Ridgewood Public Schools strives to provide learning opportunities in mathematics that enhance student learning while creating critical thinkers and problem solvers. This process will look different for every student, and it is imperative that students have these learning experiences at the optimal time to reach their maximum learning potential and maintain a positive perspective of mathematics. The district's placement process is a critical component of providing students with the most appropriate placement opportunities for academic success in mathematics.
There are several components used to determine mathematics placement and are designed to be transparent and data driven. A variety of data points will be used to determine eligibility for the accelerated math program. Students who meet the required scores on the placement criteria will have the opportunity to join the double advanced mathematics program. This is an extremely challenging program geared towards engaging our accelerated math students in a rigorous setting.
