Welcome to the Ridgewood Public Schools

A Message from the Superintendent


It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Ridgewood Public Schools. As the largest school system in Bergen County, the Ridgewood district comprises ten schools: six elementary schools (K-5); two middle schools (6-8); and one high school (9-12). Of the district’s approximately 500 teachers and administrators, 65% have Master’s degrees and 5% hold doctorates.

The Ridgewood Public Schools deliver a high-quality education focusing on maximizing the potential of every learner. The district is continually recognized on state and national levels for school and individual achievements. Our students consistently score extremely well on state and national tests and above state and district factor groups. The district’s more than 5800 students all have an opportunity to succeed under the tutelage and guidance of a dedicated, professional faculty and administration. In addition, all students are taught in a technologically advanced setting and are provided with numerous opportunities to excel in the formal classroom and extracurricular activities, including the arts, athletics and academic competitions.

The Ridgewood Public Schools district is governed by a five-member Board of Education. Members are elected to rotating three-year terms by the voting public.
